Trump Slams Border Shut! ZERO Illegals Released Into The US Last Month— Down from 62K Under Biden

Under the Trump administration, there’s been a seismic shift at the U.S. southern border, where new data reveals a historic low in illegal crossings under President Trump’s second term.
U.S. Customs and Border Protection reported a record-low 95 illegal immigrant encounters across the southern border on Tuesday, according to Border Czar Tom Homan.
Homan credited President Trump’s leadership for achieving what he described as the most secure border in U.S. history.
“In the last 24 hours the Border Patrol encountered a total of 95 illegal aliens across the entire southern border,” Homan posted on X. “That is the lowest number EVER recorded. Compare that to the Biden administration, who surpassed more than 10,000 per day.”

Homan emphasized that under the Biden administration, the “vast majority” of encountered illegal immigrants were released into the U.S. interior.
In contrast, he noted that no illegal immigrants were released into the country in May 2025 under Trump’s policies.

He urged Congress to pass the “Big Beautiful Bill” to solidify these gains and support what he called the “biggest deportation operation the American people voted for.”
Homan also praised CBP and Immigration and Customs Enforcement, stating, “President Trump is the Game Changer!”
The May 2025 CBP data underscores this trend. Total border encounters dropped to 8,725, a 93% decrease from the 117,905 encounters recorded in May 2024 under Biden.
Nationwide, CBP’s daily encounter average fell to 952, the second-lowest in history and a 2% drop from April 2025. Acting CBP Commissioner Pete Flores attributed the decline to Trump’s restored policies.
“Under the leadership of this administration, CBP has received historic support, resulting in another 93 percent decrease in illegal crossings along the southwest border this month compared with last year,” Flores said. “Border numbers continue to trend at historic lows, reinforcing the sustained success of our enforcement efforts in securing the homeland and protecting American communities.”

Homan previously highlighted that in April 2025, only nine illegal immigrants were released into the U.S., citing exceptional circumstances.
“Four of them were material witnesses in a criminal investigation. We needed them here to testify in a serious criminal trial. Four was extreme medical condition,” he said. “We couldn’t return them because we were in such bad shape. And one was a humanitarian issue.”
In contrast, on December 22, 2023, CBP data showed that 4,832 illegal immigrants were released in a single day, including 1,400 through the CBP One app, which the CBP Home app has since modified to facilitate self-deportation.
Under the Biden administration, from January 2021 to January 2025, CBP recorded approximately 8.5 million migrant encounters at the southern border, based on available data and estimates from CBP reports.
Of these, an estimated 6.2 million illegal immigrants were released into the U.S. interior, with many processed and released due to overcrowded facilities and policy decisions.
In contrast, illegal crossings between ports of entry under Biden peaked at over 2.5 million in 2023 alone, with daily averages often exceeding 10,000, as Homan noted.
The Trump administration has intensified deportations, targeting sanctuary cities like Chicago, Los Angeles, and New York City.
This has sparked violent protests from far-left groups opposing the enforcement actions. The left’s throwing tantrums, staging violent protests, but ICE isn’t backing down.
Homan remained defiant, advocating for the prosecution of sanctuary city leaders for violating laws on harboring illegal immigrants.
“We’ve got over 1,000 teams all across the country, operating today, operating tomorrow…you can do all of the protests you want, you can do all the violence you want. ICE will be back out there tomorrow morning,” Homan said.

 

Under President Trump, the border is locked down tighter than a drum, with a measly 95 illegal crossings in a single day. Compare that to the Biden years, when we had an open-border free-for-all, with 8.5 million encounters and 6.2 million released into our country—numbers that scream chaos and invasion, not compassion.
Biden’s policies turned our border into a revolving door, letting in who-knows-who while our communities paid the price.
Now, Trump’s back, and the results are undeniable: zero releases in May, deportations ramped up, and sanctuary cities on notice.
This is the America First agenda the people voted for, and it’s about time we took our country back.
